So can you keep your make-up clean and last longer? Here are some tips:
DON'T ENJOY TOO MUCH WHEN SHARPENING
- I know how sharpening a pencil can make you feel happy in a weird kinda' way. I do experience a bit of joy when I sharpen pencils (I don't know about you guys). When it comes to sharpening eyeliners, make sure you twist it two- three times only to make your liner last longer. If you sharpen it long enough, you lose a considerable amount of the product itself. Plus, a blunted pencil edge proves to be better in creating a soft and natural look for the eyes as compared to sharp edges that can give too defined and thin lines. Much worse, you can gouge your eye with it.
H-Y-G-I-E-N-E
- So they say that make- ups have shelf lives. While this is true, you can prolong the shelf life by practicing make- up hygiene. If you have bought a Lancome mascara that's really expensive plus 2 more back- ups, then you have to throw 'em all after 3 mos. though you haven't used up the tube yet or the 3 back- ups haven't been touched yet. I say don't lend make- ups, especially those that touch the sensible parts of your face like mascaras, eyeliners and lipsticks. Bacteria start to live and multiply in your wands if you keep on lending it to people because even though if they are disease- free, they still have different bacteria on their lids, lashes and eyes due to dirt that they encounter through the air. It pays to be firm sometimes. So let them know your stand on cosmetics lending. Don't fret, it's for the good of the both of you. You wouldn't want to throw your bucks away, right?
INVEST ON VERSATILE PRODUCTS
- Try buying lip and cheek stains that will save you from buying either a blush or a lipstick. A lipstick can also come in handy as a blush if ever you run out of it. Petroleum jelly is a good lipgloss that heals while beautifies. Keep your beauty bag lightweight and handy, and keep your wallet fat and happy. :)
MAKE USE OF 'POWDERED' STUFF
- So your face powder had a bad fall from your bag and it was literally murdered. Collect whatever was left, put it in a sifter and use a puff or a powder brush to still make use of it. Your favorite eyeshadow was stepped on by your clumsy labrador. Get whatever was left and do the alcohol method (research how it is done on the net) and bring it back to how it was before. You're driving off to work and you're putting on your newly- bought lipstick. Then you got surprised that the GO signal came up so fast then the lovely lipstick snapped off from the tube. Get the lipstick, put it in a ziploc or any plastic then crush it at home and place it in a container to still use it. These cost- efficient procedures prove to save you from buying replacements. It also unleashes some creativity within you. If you want, you can also mix and match powdered eyeshadows to create a color that's uniquely your own!
HOPE THIS ENTRY HELPS YOU IN SAVING YOUR MAKE- UP WHILE SAVING YOUR FACE AND MOST ESPECIALLY, YOUR WALLET. :)
