FINDING GOOD MAKE- UP

What does it take for Cosmetics to be "GOOD". Does the price really define "GOOD MAKE- UP"? Are all branded cosmetics "GOOD"? Or does cheap make- up necessarily means "BAD"?

Here are a few tips I'd like to share in finding GOOD MAKE- UP.

GOOD MAKE- UP TELLS YOU WHAT THEY'RE MADE OF

- You probably wouldn't care but these ingredients can actually harm or enhance your skin further. For example, Parabens prove to cause breakouts and can worsen skin conditions so Paraben- free make- up was invented. If in case you don't like Paraben lurking in the ingredients list, sparing 2 minutes for reading might actually save your face. Also, if you're looking for organic make- up, take some time to go through the ingredients list so you'll maximize your cash while enjoying the benefits as well. So make it a habit to check what your make- up is made of.

WARNING: CHEAP MAKE- UPS (THOSE SOLD BY THE STREET OR IN FLEA MARKETS) SOMETIMES DON'T HAVE THEIR INGREDIENTS LISTED ON THEIR BOXES. IN SOME CASES, THEY MIGHT HAVE, BUT INSPECT IF THE SPELLINGS ARE CORRECT. THIS IS ONE SIGN OF CHEAPLY MADE COSMETICS. SOMETIMES, THEY WOULD INVENT OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD CHEMICAL NAMES THAT YOU HAVEN'T POSSIBLY HEARD IN YOUR EXISTENCE IN THIS EARTH, WHICH MAKES IT EVEN SCARIER.

GOOD MAKE- UP IS AUTHENTIC

- It doesn't matter if it's just ELF, Maybelline or Ever Bilena, as long as it's Authentic. Always buy from the authorized retailers.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL OF KNOCK- OFFS. MAKE- UP REPLICAS ARE ALMOST LIKE THE REAL THING SO READ UP ON HOW TO SPOT FAKE COSMETICS. THEY WOULD SOMETIMES COST CHEAPER THAN THE AUTHENTIC ONES BUT SOME SELLERS WOULD CLAIM THAT THEY ARE AUTHENTIC, UNTIL YOU SEE IT IN ACTUAL. WHAT SUCKS THE MOST IS, YOU END PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT DESERVES TO BE SOLD AT A CHEAPER THAN WHAT YOU PAID FOR. APPARENTLY, EBAY HAS TONS OF MAKE- UP KNOCKOFFS. THE MOST REPLICATED MAKE- UP BRANDS ARE BENEFIT (THIS ONE'S QUITE HARD TO SPOT!), MAC, NARS, MAYBELLINE, CLINIQUE, L'OREAL AND THE SHISEIDO FACE POWDERS. DON'T RISK BUYING IN EBAY BECAUSE A LOT OF THESE FAKE PRODUCTS ARE SOLD THERE. ALSO, IT WILL HELP IF YOU'LL READ UP ON TIPS ON HOW TO SPOT FAKE COSMETICS.

GOOD MAKE- UP DOESN'T HAVE TO COST A FORTUNE

- There are a lot of cheap yet excellent brands out there. So if you're a beauty on a budget, have a worry- free haul-age on the ff. brands: Fanny Serrano, ELF, Fashion 21, Ever Bilena, Nichido, VOV, Maybelline, NYX, Careline. Chanel may be a prestigious brand but not all their products are exceptional. The exceptionelle mascara is not that good and their palettes have bad pigmentation. So expensive doesn't always mean good.

WARNING: Just because they're cheap doesn't necessarily mean you can buy every single item from these brands and spend like there's no tomorrow. For beauties on a budget, always keep a list of the cosmetics you have in mind. And think real hard on what you need, not what you want. This way, you could save your way to a tube of MAC lipstick! I was a newbie to beauty before and I hauled like crazy on Ever Bilena foundations. I bought all the shades then I realized that not a single shade has fit my skin tone. I ended up giving 'em away. So that's a waste of around 500 bucks for me. I could've used it to buy myself a Maybelline foundation.

GOOD MAKE- UP SUITS YOUR SKIN

- Thanks to our different cosmetic technology advancements, these companies have come up with different make- ups that will fit any skin tone so all you'll have to do is determine your skin type, and every single make- up recommended for your skin is just waiting for you to be bought at every cosmetic counter.

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE OR HYPERSENSITIVE SKIN, MAKE SURE YOU BUY HYPOALLERGENIC PRODUCTS OR PRODUCTS GOOD FOR YOUR DELICATE SKIN TYPES. DON'T RISK USING CONSUMER PRODUCTS (MAC IS NOT AN EXCEPTION) THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE. EXAMPLES OF MAKE- UPS FOR DELICATE SKIN ARE MINERAL MAKE- UPS, CLINIQUE AND CLARINS. ALSO, MAKE IT A HABIT TO ROAD- TEST THE PRODUCTS BEFORE PURCHASING. OFTENTIMES, WE GET TOO EXCITED THAT WE END UP BUYING SOMETHING THAT WE DON'T REALLY NEED, OR MUCH, WORSE, NOT APT FOR OUR SKIN.

THERE YOU HAVE IT! I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU IN FINDING YOUR "GOOD" MAKE- UP. FEEL FREE TO SHARE MORE TIPS ON HOW TO FIND "GOOD" MAKE- UP!
