THE VERDICT:

I am looking for a nice nude lippie that won't wash me out nor make my teeth look garish. My YSL Rouge Pur in Hazelnut is a nice semi- nude lippie. But it still has a peach undertone, which gives my lips a bit of peach tinge. It's not totally nude, not like the lippies that you'd see being paired up with smokey eye make- up looks.

I saw this one time in Ebay then I searched for swatch pics and reviews in Google right away.

Christine of Temptalia defined this as "The perfect nude lippie that doesn't look too nude". Maybe what she means by that is, it's the kind of nude that doesn't wash you out.

Let's now review the actual product.

Freckletone used to be part of the Emmanuel Ungaro collection by MAC. As far as I can remember, this was included in the MAC consumer line. I don't know if it's still there. If it's not in the MAC consumer lipstick selection, maybe it's transferred to the PRO line.

Freckletone is in the lustre variant, which may be the reason why this nude lipstick doesn't was you out that much. It's a pale beige lippie. A perfect nude shade. The gloss in it makes this lippie look very sexy when applied on the lips. And this is such a universally flattering nude shade. It compliments dark and fair skintones!

It's perfect to wear with a smokey eye make- up or if you're simply sporting a bronzed look. It's perfect to wear whether you're just out to stroll in the mall or when you're going out to a special dinner date. You gotta love how versatile the color is!

However, girls with pigmented lips may need to neutralize their lips with a lip concealer before using this because this is quite sheer, but buildable.

The Lustre variants of MAC tend to dry my lips out. But heck do I care! I love the shade!

Since Freckletone is unavailable locally, you can try sheer nude shades such as MAC Hug Me and Syrup.

I may not buy this again because it's not available locally and it might have been discontinued by MAC. But if I find this in ebay again, I'll prolly purchase one once this lippie runs out!
