THE VERDICT:

I wasn't really planning to get a blush because I still have two coral blushes that will prolly last me for years. But the rave on this blush really made me so curious.

So when mom called from Singapore and asked me what I want as a pasalubong, I asked her for MAC's Instant Chic blush. And she threw in a Chromagraphic pencil and Dressmaker, Dressmaker lipstick as additional goodies. :))))))

Like the other beauty blogger qualms, I was one of them who thought that the packaging will be in a carton- like texture, and in a cream or beige color. And it came in the traditional MAC packaging. I'm fine with it. But it would be exciting though if the packaging were like the ones in the promotional ad.

But true enough, you must not judge a book by its cover.

Instant Chic blush is in the Sheertone variant. And some beauty bloggers are having a problem with the color pay- off. Based on its blush type, the blush goes on sheer, with just a hint of color when applied on the cheeks. I think some fair to very fair skin tones had this problem, because apart from being sheer, Instant Chic is a light coral shade as well.

But I beg to differ. Upon first stroke, I could already see a hint of that sweet coral color on my cheeks. The color was more apparent because I have dark skin tone (for reference, I'm an n42-43).

I layered it thrice so I could get a slight pop of coral color. And it still managed to look so light! And it's very puuurty.... :p

And I am head over heels with Instant Chic! It just gives me a feminine and summer-y glow! When I don't feel like using my bronzers, or would find my calypso coral too bright, Instant Chic is the perfect go- to blush whenever I just want to look like a blushing babe. :)

And if you're still thinking about whether to get Instant Chic or not, Get it. No, GRAB IT! It's so pretty. IMO, it will suit any skin tone because though the formula is Sheertone, the color is buildable, which makes it perfect for heavy and light hands, and fair and dark skinned chicas! :)
